Every day with a postpartum doula looks a little different, because your needs will be changing daily. At the start of each visit, we’ll go over your goals for the day. We might tackle a new task together, such as perfecting your swaddle skills, learning to bathe your new baby, or figuring out how to use that baby carrier or wrap you’ve been wanting to try. You might like support as you learn to breastfeed, help getting out of the house, or simply someone to listen on a tough day. Some days, the most important thing on your agenda will be to catch up on sleep or take a few moments for yourself while the doula takes care of your baby, prepares snacks and meals, or takes care of the dishes and laundry.
Daytime hours are typically booked in 4-hour shifts.
Let your postpartum doula take the night shift so you can sleep soundly, knowing that your baby is in expert hands. The goal of overnight support is to provide you with as much uninterrupted sleep as possible so you can wake rested and enjoy your baby during the day. If you are breastfeeding, your doula will bring baby to you to nurse and then take care of the burping, changing, and settling back down, minimizing your wake-up time and allowing you to get back to sleep more quickly.
Overnight support is provided in 8 hour shifts, beginning between 9pm and 10pm.
Rate: $320/night. Additional hours can be added on at the daytime rate of $35/hour.
"Emily cares about happy, healthy children, mothers, and fathers. She emphasizes being present in the moment with your baby and acknowledging that some days will be hard but many more will be wonderful. I do not know what we would have done without the support that Emily gave us in those first few critical weeks. She taught us how to put the baby down in her bassinet without her waking, how to change a diaper, get out those stubborn burps, reminded us to eat and care for ourselves too – things no book could really teach us. Her calm, reassuring presence during her visits gave us the confidence that we would provide our daughter with the best possible love and care. We will forever be grateful for all that Emily has done for our family."

"Emily's overnight support after my c-section was invaluable. She is an absolute expert with newborns and it is so clear she loves being with babies and helping new moms. She is gentle, loving, professional and compassionate. I have never felt more comfortable and confident in handing over my baby to anyone as I did with Emily."

"Emily is amazing. She came into our family and not only supported myself, my husband, and our twin boys but kept my Mom and Dad informed on happenings because they did not live close by. I experienced some severe emotional postpartum issues after my birth and Emily was extremely resourceful and got me an appointment with someone the next day - I was so thankful. She is a wonderful teacher, friend and someone I would want by my side if I were to have another little one."

"As soon as I met Emily I felt connected to her like an old friend who understood exactly what I needed as I was going through multiple changes in my family leading up to the birth of Quinn. Emily's bedside manner, sense of humor and warmth was matched with knowledge, professionalism and experience. Emily intuitively knew what I needed to recover from my c-section and my newborn (and three year old!) took to her immediately and naturally. We could not have done it without her! Our family and lives are better now that she is part of our story."
